Land Leases No Government Oil Land Leases by Any Department, Says Hoover

WASHINGTON, March 12.—President Hoover said today that there will be no Government oil land leases by any department during his administration.

Secretary of Interior Wilbur today appointed Commissioner Spry of the General Land Office, George Otis Smith, director of the Geological Survey, and Solicitor Tinkey, of the Interior Department, a board to survey all oil leases granted by the Interior Department and to carry out policies announced by Hoover.
