Latest from Valparaiso.—The following information was received from the Correspondent of Merchants' Hall.
The ship Charles, Coffin, from the Pacific Ocean, has arrived at Nantucket, and, by her, letters have been received from Valparaiso up to the 7th April, at which time the Chilian squadron were all in port.
A licensed trade has been opened with Peru, and several vessels had sailed with wheat, and other articles, for Lima.
A plot to assassinate the Supreme Director of Chili, and to place the family of Carrera at the head of government, had been discovered.
Business was very dull. Sales were made for government paper, which was 30 per cent. discount.
