ARMISTICE DAY PROGRAM TO BE GIVEN SATURDAY

American Legion to Take Lead In Observing Day:
Meetings at Christian and Methodist Churches in Morning
AFTERNOON ASSEMBLY IS TO COMPLETE BIG EVENT

Community Sing and Recognition of Red Cross Will Feature Afternoon Session on Courthouse Lawn, Is Plan.

Program for Armistice Day ceremonies here Saturday were announced today by the Raymond T. Hurst post of the American Legion and the A. L. A. unit.

Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock services under the auspices of the Legion post and auxiliary unit will be held in the Christian and Methodist churches.

Alger Melton, local attorney, will deliver the Armistice Day address at the Christian church. The following program will be rendered:

Hymn-"Faith of Our Fathers"
Scripture Lesson- Selection Christian Church Male Quartette
Talk rendered:
Scripture Lesson Rev. H. E. Toothaker

Services Saturday Afternoon

Observance of Armistice Day here will not be completed until after the patriotic assembly on the courthouse lawn in the afternoon, beginning at 2:30 o'clock.

Music will be one of the features of this assembly. Numbers will be rendered by the Junior Red Cross Chorus under the direction of Miss Ballard, Chickasha high school band, a chorus of girls from the Oklahoma College for Women, and the Chickasha high school chorus.

The community sing will be in charge of Prof. Ed Weeks. Senator C. A. Dearmon will deliver the principal address of the afternoon.

Armistice Day being the opening of the sixth annual Red Cross roll call in the county, some recognition will be given this organization in the afternoon services. E. Brightwell, city director of the roll call drive, will make a short talk following the address by Senator Dearmon. His subject will be, "The American Red Cross."

Should inclement weather prevail Saturday, the afternoon ceremonies will be held in the court house, it was announced.

Legion post and auxiliary unit officials announced today that the public is cordially invited to attend these services.
