A Shabby Trick

Kalamazoo, Mich.-The name of one indignant citizen has been erased from the police list of reported suicides here.

Ura Johnson heard that officials were searching the Kalamazoo river for his body. He stormed in to the police station.

He denied he had told anybody he planned to jump off Memorial Bridge. What's more, he said, he particularly resented being referred to as a shabbily dressed man.

He left his pushcart on the bridge, Johnson said, only long enough to get some lunch.
