Monday, June 18. Senate.-Nothing of special interest.
House.-Protracted discussion on the Tariff. The amendment proposed by Mr Davis rejected-ayes 57, noes 72.
Tuesday, June 19. Senate.-Mr Clay spoke on the Tariff.
House.-Tariff debate. Mr Howard, from the Committee of Commerce, offered a joint resolution placing $50,000 at the discretion of the President of the United States to be expended in precautionary measures against the ravages of the Asiatic Cholera
Thursday, June 21. Senate-Executive business.
House.-The Tariff (the bill from committee on Manufactures) under consideration. A motion to adopt Mr Stewart's amendment as a substitute for the bill. was lost by a vote of 43 to 95, A motion to substitute the bill of the Secretary of the Treasury, was rejected by a vote of 43 to 95. The Committee rose, and reported the bill to the House, and it was ordered to be printed.
