Col. Roosevelt won 53 of the 64 district national delegates and his followers elected enough delegates to the state convention to give them control of that body, which will name twelve delegates at large.
Politicians are astounded at the outcome as the friends of Col. Roosevelt were without an organization in many of the districts. Gov. Woodrow Wilson, who was practically without opposition was given 74 out of the 76 delegates. the remaining two delegates are unpledged but are favorable to Gov. Harmon.
The friends of Senator Clark expected defeat in Pennsylvania and did not put up a strenuous opposition. A poll made by the New York Herald before the result in Pennsylvania was known gives Mr. Clark 131 votes to Mr. Wilson's 34. admitting the result of the Pennsylvania primary to be wholly in Mr. Wilson's favor. it would leave Clark with 131 votes to Wilson's 110, leaving Wilson still ten votes behind Clark. The Herald claims that Clark is gaining ground rapidly. while Wilson is losing with equal rapidity.
