A late English paper says--

"Government means to give great encouragement to persons who are desirous of proceeding from the United Kingdom for the purpose of settling in the Canadas--It is now said, that a free passage and provisions during the voyage, at government expence, will be provided for such settlers, and that they will not only be put in possession of grants of land, proportioned in extent to the means which they may possess of cultivating them, but that they will be allowed rations and other indulgencies for the time which may be required to enable them to bring their land into cultivation."
