Democratic Convention.

The democrats of Garrard county, Ky., pursuant to call of State Central Committee, met at the Court House in Lancaster, on Monday, July 16, 1900 for the purpose of selecting delegates to the state convention to be held at Lexington on July 19, 1900. The meeting was called to order by Hon. Geo. T. Farris, chairman of the county committee, and on motion, S. N. Steadman, was elected chairman, and Tom Wherritt, secretary. The following committee on resolutions were appointed: G. T. Farris, R. H. Tomlinson, T. C. Gulley, A. K. Walker and I. M. Dunn, who reported the following resolutions, which were adopted:

We, the democracy of Garrard county, Ky., in convention assembled, approve the call of the state central committee. We hereby reaffirm our allegiance to the Democratic party enunciated at the Kansas City convention, held July 4, 1900.

Resolved, That the following named persons are hereby appointed delegates to the Lexington convention to be held July 19, 1900: Delegates--G. T. Farris, J. T. Hays, I. M. Dunn, T. C. Gulley, E. H. Walker and W. M. Baughman. Alternates--W. B. Mason, R. H. Tomlinson, I. S. Dunn, M. D. Hughes, W. L. Lawson and J. E. Robinson.

Resolved, That the delegates are hereby instructed to vote as a unit on all questions that come before the convention, a majority of the delegates ruling.

Ordered, That this convention adjourn, this July 16, 1900.
