Full Text

City and Township Elections.—The votes had not been counted off in all the Wards when our paper went to press this evening; but from the state of the polls, so far as we have learned, no doubt remains that the following gentlemen have been elected:

Samuel W. Davies,
Mayor,

Jesse Justice,
Marshal,

James Comly,
Treasurer.

Richard Mulford is elected Justice of the Peace. The Constables, and the Councilmen of the different Wards, elected, we have not yet learned.

We have again delayed our paper to a late hour, in order to lay before our readers the foreign intelligence received by the eastern mail at half past two o'clock this afternoon. By this mail, we are advised of the arrival, at New-York, of the ship Ajax, which sailed from Liverpool on the 21st Feb., bringing London papers to the 19th. To make room for this intelligence, we have postponed such editorial matter as was prepared for to-day. It is our intention, hereafter, to spare no exertions in laying the earliest intelligence before our readers.
