Gen. Grant Injures a Child.
Gen. Grant, as well known, is very fond of a fast horse, and when he gets behind one he travels through the streets at a John Gilpin speed. While thus amusing himself on Fourth street yesterday evening he ran over a child of William C. Harper, Esq., inflicting rather serious injuries. Upon ascertaining the damages he had done he rode back to Mr. Harper's, expressing many regrets at the occurrence, and offered to pay all expenses for medical attendance, &c.-Cor. Baltimore Sun.
Three cheers for the Butcher! Great Radical victory and extraordinary military coup de grace! A Democratic child, perhaps, rendered hors de combat! "Willing to pay expense" of brilliant campaign, &c. Magnanimous Grant! Great is Great, the child slayer. Greater are whisky, billiards and tobacco. Selah!
