Full Text

O' what a curious thing is snuff
That ladies can never eat enough
It used to make them sneeze and swear
But now it makes them bob their hair
With a half a waist and powdered face
And short bobbed hair you know
I am going down to town today
To tell the girls I have a beau
And when they meet folks in the road
Their eyes will bat like a hungry Toad
The first word they will always say:
Can you give me a rub of snuff today,
Then on they go so merrily
Singing this is the stuff for me
With the mid thigh skirt without petty or shirt
And the dress made of georgette of blue
Young men if you wish to see
The real form of Mother Eve
Just stand in front and look thru
Now there's the Church but I won't go in
For the boys all look at me and grin
For when they kneel for prayer you see
I am just too proud to bend my knee
But o ! when that Awful day rolls round
When Gabriel blows his awakening sound
You'll have to quit your snuff again
Brace up and clean your mouth and chin.
