Paw Paw Lake, Aug. 10.—Two young
ladies, Miss Grace Ramorser, age 18, and
Miss Julia Dunlevy, age 19, both of Chi-
cago, were drowned while bathing in
Paw Paw lake, Sunday, between 1 and
3 p. m. The two young ladies had not
been in the water long when they step-
ped into a deep hole. They became fright-
ened, and grasped each other—both were
drowned. A brother of one of the young
ladies was on the shore, and made heroic
efforts to save them, but both sank be-
fore he could reach them. The drown-
ing occurred on the beach near Maple-
wood Resort. The bodies were recovered.
Miss Dunlevy was a stenographer for
the P. M. R. R. and came over to spend
the week end with her friend.
Miss Ramorser was learning the part
of a leading lady in a play about to be
staged at the Garrick Theatre, Chicago
and was a very talented young lady.
