WASHINGTON CITY, November 26.

GENERAL TURREAU. Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor, appointed Minister Plenipotentiary of his Majesty the Emperor of the French, to the United States, was on the 23d inst. received in that character by the President.

General Turreau was accompanied by Capt. Mann, his first aide-de-camp. We understand that Madame Turreau and family are daily expected, in a vessel that was to sail shortly after the general's departure attended by Mr. Perry, first secretary, and Mr. de Cable, Second secretary of legation.
