CHADBOURN, Nov. 27.-Sammy Koonce was at home from Carolina for the week-end.-Miss Nell Koons of Wilmington, spent the weekend with her brother, R. R. Koons. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Derrick and Leo, Jr., were week-end visitors to Charleston, S C.-Miss Joanne Baldwin visited Miss Frances Bonkemeyer in Maxton over the week-end.- Mrs. W. I. Peal, and son, Willie, visited relatives in Florence, S. C. last week.-Mrs. Horace Bullock and children spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Pierce in Parkton. - Sgt. Charles Land was at home from Camp Jackson over the week-end. Mrs. Cecil Fitz and Mrs. Ray Pittman spent Wednesday in Wilmington.-Mrs. E. G. Wilson was a Wilmington visitor Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. W. E Bailey, Margie and Elroy spent the weekend in Charleston, S C., visiting Bill Bailey who is in school at Citadel. -Cpl. Hermon Cook of Pine Camp, N. Y., was a visitor in town over the weekend.-Mrs. Eugene Porter and baby, Ina Claire, of Whitesville, is spending several days with Mrs. W. C. Edmund
Mrs. J. A. Brown entertained at two tables of bridge Monday afternoon. Upon the arrival of the guests a dessert course was served. High score was won by Mrs. A. B. Brady and the low score went to Mrs. Hermon M. Blake. War stamps were awarded as prizes Those playing were, in addition to the above, Mrs. E. L. Derrick, Mrs. G. B. Walton, Mrs. Glenn Strole, Mrs W L Albright, and Misses Maysie and Rochelle Hendren.
