Teachers College Extension Course Held At Abington
Dr. Herbert Fowler to Conduct Classes In "Appreciation Of Literature." Course Open To Teachers and Others.

Teachers of schools in this vicinity and others may avail themselves of the opportunity to study an appreciation of literature, it was announced today by James W. Frost, field supervisor of rural education, who outlined the extension course offered by Teachers College of Connecticut.

In the course, "Appreciation of Literature," the creative aspect of modern literature will be stressed, with some attention to prose and poetry for children.

The instructor will be Herbert W. Fowler, Ph. D. Dr. Fowler was formerly Professor of Education at New York University and is now at Teachers College of Connecticut at New Britain.

The course will consist of 15 two-hour sessions to be held at 4 o'clock on Mondays, beginning September 17 at Abington School, Pomfret, at junction of routes 101 and 97. Two semester hours credit will be granted for the satisfactory completion of the course.

The course is set up primarily for teachers, but others who are interested in the subject are invited to register. The tuition fee for the semester is $10, payable at the third meeting of the course, October 8.

Applications for enrollment may be received from and returned to James W. Frost of Grove Street as soon as possible.
