WASHINGTON (A.N.P.) The heroism of a Negro coast guardsman, Charles W. David of New York City, in saving the lives of his executive officer and others during dramatic rescue operations in the North Atlantic, losing his life in the process, was told in True Comics, a color strip circulated to newspapers throughout the country by the Parents' Magazine, Inc., the week of October 22. Picturizations of the rescue ending with the post-humous award of the Navy and Marines corps medal to his wife and son are presented in 11 sections. The rescue occurred last week. The award was made this year. David died of pneumonia following his exposure and exertions.
