NEW YORK, August 23.

IMPORTANT—from South America.

We learn from captain Steddford, of the schooner Sally from the Spanish Main, that the revolutionists of Carraccas were expected down to Cora in a hostile manner.

Ship Susannah, Bruce, from Madeira, was, 3 weeks since, in lat. 28, long. 35, boarded by the Bedford, of 74 guns, five weeks from Rio Janeiro, with despatches— reported that there was a serious revolution among the Spaniards in South America.

Mr. Brown, of the house of Gilbert Robertson & Co. was on board the Bedford.

Passengers, Mr. Barretto and family.
