O'Doul and Meusel Connect for Homers During Slugfest.
PHILADELPHIA, July 17 (A.P.)—The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Phillies today 14 to 9 in a dizzy slugfest.
The Reds piled up a 14 to 0 lead but the Phillies got busy in the eighth and knocked Rixey off the mound, scoring 3 runs. They added another counter in the 9th.
O'Doul and Klein kept up their terrific hitting streak, the former with 3 hits and the latter with four.
O'Doul and Meusel hit home runs.
