NEW HAVEN, CONN. AUG. 28.

Fire at Nova Scotia.—By Capt. Richards, who arrived here 6 days from Lubeck, we learn that the woods in Nova Scotia had been on fire for some weeks, and had burnt from 12 to 15 miles in length, between St. Stephens and St. Andrews, and extended several miles back. Six dwelling houses near the river were known to have been consumed, and many more were supposed to have shared the same fate. The season had been remarkably dry; and nothing but heavy rains would arrest the progress of the fire. Capt. R. had his decks covered with cinders and ashes, after getting 20 or 30 miles to sea.
