JACK LONDON UNDERGOES OPERATION FOR APPENDICITIS

Oakland, Cal., July 8.—Jack London, the well known author, was operated on for appendicitis at a hospital here this morning. Physicians said his general condition was excellent and that he would be out of the hospital in about ten days. The physicians announced that the operation had been entirely successful and that no complications were expected. "The trouble," the announcement said, "was more pronounced than the symptoms indicated. The appendix was badly inflamed."
