Full Text

On Monday the 3d of September, (says an Albany paper) the commissioners for making roads and bridges in the western district are to meet in this city, and on Tuesday proceed to explore the Mohawk river, below the Cohoes, for a suitable place to build a bridge across that river, and are to be accompanied by Mr. Beardsley, the celebrated bridge-builder, who built Chase's bridge, and one across the Mohawk river, at the Little falls—and on Wednesday they proceed to explore the country, for a road and bridges, from Albany westward—to begin at the house of Isaac Truax, junior, and continue through Duanesburgh to Cherry-Valley, and from thence to the outlet of Lake Otsego, which will shorten the rout to that place about twenty miles. These two objects of the law, if effected, must prove highly pleasing to every class of citizens in this district.
