Worcester, May 26.

A meeting of the citizens was held last evening, denouncing the assault on Mr. Sumner.

Lowell, May 26.

A large indignation meeting is being held relative to the assault on Senator Sumner.

Boston, May 26.—Immense meetings have been held at Boston and Lowell, denouncing the punishment of Mr. Sumner by Mr. Brooks, and the most distinguished men of all parties participated therein. The Governor of Massachusetts presided. The resolutions were violent. The Legislature of this State have also passed very strong resolutions, demanding the immediate expulsion of Mr. Brooks and all concerned.
