Sunday

According to an announcement by J. Y. Moreland, principal of Booker T. Washington High School, Morris B. Abram, well known Atlanta lawyer, will be the Baccalaureate speaker at the 9:30 a.m. exercises tomorrow in the school gymnatorium.

Educated at the University of Georgia and the University of Chicago Law School, Mr. Abram became a Rhodes Scholar at Pembroke College, Oxford, England from 1946 to 1948.

During World War II, Attorney Abram served in the United States Air Forces where he became a Major and the recipient of the Legion of Merit.

Outstanding among the many offices that Mr. Abram has held are the following: member of the staff of American Prosecution, International Military Tribunal of Nuremberg, Germany, assistant to the Director of the Committee for the Marshall Plan, member of the Public Wage Stabilization Board (Southern Region), Chairman of the Atlanta Crime Committee, National Vice President of the American Jewish Committee of New York, a member of the Board of Trustees of Morehouse College, formerly the president of the Family Service Society of Fulton, DeKalb and Cobb Counties of Georgia, and former Counsel for the United States Peace Corps. He is the co-author of "How to Stop Violence in Your Community."

The theme of the baccalaureate service and for the commencement season at Washington High School is "The Quest for World Peace."

Others on the program next Sunday will be J. Y. Moreland, principal, presiding; Robert Powell, theological student at McGill University of Montreal, Canada; Rev. Adolphus Carty, rector of St. Paul Episcopal Church, and the Rev. J. E. Garnett.
