Hemingway, Aug. 23.—Rev. J. E. Clark, Miss Thelma Clark and Master Edell Clark, of Charleston, spent Tuesday and Wednesday with friends here.
Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Willis and family of Cottageville, spent several days last week with Mrs. Willis' sister Mrs. D. H. Oliver.
Miss Victoria Thames returned Sunday from Sumter, where she visited Miss Melba Kubh.
Miss Mildred Huggins and Mr. Bertie Huggins spent Sunday in Timmonsville. They were accompanied home by Miss Lorena Huggins, who had been visiting Miss Floy White.
Miss Lena Thomas of Lake City, is visiting her sister, Mrs. D. H. Oliver.
Mr. and Mrs. Heyward Chandler and family of Rembert, spent several days last week with Rev. and Mrs. M. G. Arant.
Miss Aileen Cannon of Charleston, is visiting her parents.
Mrs. Clarence Alsbrook and children of Kingstree, are visiting the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Flowers.
Misses Estelle and Gladys Chandler returned Sunday from a visit in Lake City.
Mrs. Clyde Sansbury of Timmonsville, is with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Haselden.
Mr. Louis Venters left last week for Sanford, Fla., after having spent several weeks with his parents.
Mrs. Melvin Cribb and children spent several days last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Smith of Bloomingvale.
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Cannon of Charleston, visited the former's parents last week.
Mrs. Edmund has returned to her work after a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. M. Venters.
The Hemingway Epworth League was represented at the Kingstree District League Union meeting held in Johnsonville Friday by the following delegates: Misses Mildred Hemingway, Belle Hemingway, Jane Hemingway, Eileen Flowers, Ada Brown and Jean Oliver.
Miss Bertha Clark of Manning, spent several days last week with Miss Corlinne Cox.
Mrs. L. G. Day and little daughter, Miriam, have returned after a visit with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwards of Mullins.
Rev. and Mrs. B. D. Thames are spending ten days in Richmond.
Rev. J. W. Guy, superintendent of the Anti-Saloon League in South Carolina, spoke to a congregation of Methodists and Baptists in the Methodist church on Sunday morning.
Friday evening an Epworth League social was enjoyed on the school campus. After an evening of music and games refreshments were served.
Mrs. H. B. Perry and children spent last week with relatives in Darlington.
Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Bass attended the Kelley reunion at Big Springs last week.
Mrs. B. J. Chandler is in Lake City with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel.
Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Belger and Miss Sally Haselden spent a short while Saturday in Georgetown.
