MEDALS GIVEN C. M. T. C. BOYS

Adjudged to have attained the best records in the various classes during the annual Civilian Military Training Camp which closed at Camp Stephen D. Little, Saturday, the following trainees received C. M. T. C. association medals:

Charles W. Stark, Phoenix, Blue (cavalry); Walker P. Mullen, Phoenix, Blue (infantry): Frederick E. Keinenburg, Dallas, Tex., White (cavalry): Manuel J. Fisher, White (infantry); Frank B. Savery, Gadsden, Red (cavalry); Frank H. Estavillo, Safford, Red (infantry).

A Babe Ruth ball and bat was won by Vernon H. Householder of Safford.

A scholarship given by the New Mexico Military Institute was won by Franklin L. Bennett of Yuma.

A cup, which had been presented by the Tucson chamber of commerce for the Pima county trainee making the best camp record was awarded to Edward H. Andres, Jr., of Tucson.

Three scholarships presented by the Arizona Military Institute of Tucson were won by the following, the scholarships being valued at $500, $300 and $200 respectively:

Virgil Chilson, Douglas (cavalry): Frank H. Estavillo, Safford (infantry): and Grant Prina, Safford (infantry).

Alternates named for the scholarship awards were Franklin Bennett, Douglas (cavalry); Jay H. Shannon, Douglas (infantry); and Andrew F. Fitzhugh, Phoenix, (cavalry).

Events of a track and field meet held by the trainees in the morning were won by the following:

100-yard dash, Frank N. Estavillo, first; Marvin R. Sullivan, second.

High jump, Robert G. Fruits, first; Frank V. Summings, second.

Running broad jump, Robert G. Fruits, first: Wilbur M. Anderson, second.

220-yard dash, Frank N. Estavillo, first; Marvin R. Sullivan, second.

Discus, Clifford Blevins, first; Virgil Chilson, second.

Javelin, Gilbert C. Peterson, first; Arthur W. McKenzie, second

440-yard dash, Frank N. Estavillo,
