The Storm Prevents a Large Attend-
ence at Mr. and Mrs. Cameron's Last
Evening-Pleasure for the Few.
Owing to the snow storm and revival
services, attendance at Chautauqua cir-
cle last evening was meager. This re-
porter reached the elegant home of Mr.
and Mrs. Cameron much in advance of
the others and enjoyed a delightful sen-
son in Mrs. Cameron's conservatory ad-
miring her beautiful flowers, many of
which are California specimens, and
other curiosities from the Pacific coast.
So far as attendance permitted, the pro-
gram was faithfully carried out. Mrs.
Cameron presided at the piano, Mr. St.
Clair led in the "Questions from Memo-
randa" and Mrs. E. V. Roberts conduct-
ed the questions on "Initial Studies in
American Letters."
Roll call had been
responded to by quotations from Haw-
thorne and again each member came for-
ward in answering the query "Why am I
a Chautauquan?" The evening was one
of profit to all. The place of next meet-
ing was left to the president and pro-
gram committee.
