5th Man Arrested in Ga. Bank Robbery

James W. Coney, 32, dry cleaning plant employee, was arrested in Fort Lauderdale this week and charged with receiving part of the $13,672 taken in robbery of a Georgia bank Jan. 2.

The FBI announced that Coney is the fifth man arrested in connection with the robbery of the Vidalia Banking Co. The other four were arrested in New Jersey Monday, one charged with receiving a portion of the stolen money and the other three with committing the robbery.

This is the first record of Negroes being charged with robbery of a White bank in Georgia.

Coney is being charged with receiving $1,000 of the money knowing it was stolen. He is being held for a hearing in the Ft. Lauderdale jail for a hearing before a U. S. commissioner in Miami.
