Election in Cincinnati.

The Republicans swept Cincinnati by a splendid majority, and redeemed old Hamilton handsomely. The following was the vote in the city:

Cincinnati Republican vote 12,002
Cincinnati Democratic vote 10,091
Republican maj. in Hamilton Co. 1,911

Whole vote polled, 29,474--which was the largest ever cast by nearly 2,000.

The Republicans could have carried both members of Congress had none scratched the ticket. Day is beaten by Pendleton 342 votes, while the Republican State ticket in the same District received 150 majority. A large portion of the aristocracy of the West End voted for their brother Codfish, Pendleton, regardless of principle, but from patrician considerations; while the riff-raff of the Democracy stuck to the regular ticket. In this way the Republicans lost a Congressman, and a Lecompton traitor escaped punishment.
