TUSKEGEE INSTITUTE, Ala.- (SNS)-The National Sunday School and Baptist Young People's Union will feature in its final session today the annual sermon by the president Dr. W. H. Jernagin in the chapel here. Leaders pointed out that the finance was increased over the amount taken up last year at Raleigh, N. C.
Delegates attending the meet enjoyed a motorcade Saturday afternoon, followed by a board meeting. Hundreds of Baptists are preparing to leave this afternoon by train.
During the session, a court trial with judge, lawyers and jury proved to be quite educational. Judge Wm. H. Harrison, Chicago, presided, while the lawyers were: R. L. Witherspoon St. Louis; A. B. Koger, Baltimore; A. T. Walden, Atlanta; Webster A. Porter, Knoxville.
Rev. C M Smith, Philadelphia, spoke on "Christian Parentage" while Dr. L. G. Jordan, discussed "History of Negro Baptists."
Declaring that many of our men have one legal wife and one or more common-law wives, Dr. T. J. Goodall, Houston, Texas, created unique excitement when he spoke on "The Reconstructive Recourses of the Christian Religious in the Problem of Common-law Marriage and Children."
Rev. Samuel P. Pettagrue Atlanta presided during a demonstration by the Cadets and Boy Scouts.
Dr. G. E. Haynes, New York, developed the theme, "The Challenge in our National Crisis" while a special address was delivered by Dr. Robert P. Daniel, Raleigh, N. C.
