From the N. Y. Com. Advertiser, Dec. 19.

FROM GIBRALTAR.

By the arrival this morning of the brig Eliza Ann, captain Johnson, from Gibraltar, we learn that the American squadron, consisting of one 74, 2 frigates, and 2 sloops of war, under commodore Chauncey, were still at Gibraltar on the 6th November. Capt. Johnson was informed by the health officer that all vessels were quarantined 10 days, in consequence of the Algerine squadron being out. On the 19th of November captain Johnson was informed by a gentleman at Gibraltar, that the Russians were about taking possession of the island of Minorca, for a naval depot, in lieu of which the Russians were to supply the Spaniards with 12 sail of the line to go against the Patriots.

By this arrival we have been favored with a Gibraltar price current of the 21st of November, from which we quote the following:

Bread, ship p, per cwt. $7 50 a 8; cotton, Calcutta, short. $2 last sales; corn, Indian, fanega. $1 25, small parcels sold as quoted—1 fanega of corn is equal to 4 1/8 American bushels; fish, cod, American, 4. arrivals and sales in small parcels; flour, superfine, per bbl. $3, but in little demand, sells at this in small parcels; provisions, pork. 18: beef 13, wanted in small parcels: rice, cwt. 7 75, actual sales, wanted: staves, w. o. pipe, per 1200, $65, plenty and few sales.
