THRONG GATHERS TO WITNESS IMPRESSIVE RITES ATTENDING CORNERSTONE LAYING SUNDAY AFTERNOON

A large crowd of spectators assembled Sunday afternoon at the site of the new Masonic temple to witness ceremonies attending the laying of the cornerstone. Grand Master Edwin Grafton of Billings was here especially for the occasion which marks another important step in the building of the temple, which when completed will house the Masonic lodge and related organizations, the Eastern Star and the Rainbow Girls. The temple will be the fulfillment of a long cherished dream of the Harlem Masons. It will be a 60 by 30 feet structure of Ionic architecture with basement finished to serve as recreation hall with adjoining kitchen and an upper floor equipped for lodge sessions.

At the cornerstone laying ceremonies, Right Worshipful Grand Master Edwin Grafton presided. Other Grand lodge officers present were Right Worshipful Grand Warden Ed Fredlund, Chinook, and Worshipful Junior Grand Steward Charles Davidson of Great Falls. Occupying the various stations during the ceremonies were the following: grand master, Edwin Grafton; acting deputy grand master, Ed Fredlund of Chinook; acting senior grand warden, J. D. Carnegie; acting junior grand warden, John Scheflow; acting grand treasurer, F. A. Rathbone; acting grand secretary, R. J. Niewoehner; acting grand chaplain, W. M. Bailey of Havre; acting senior grand deacon, C. H. Dolven; acting junior grand deacon, R. J. Gwaltncy; acting grand marshal, R. L. Barton; acting senior grand steward, O. J. Dolven; junior grand steward, Charles Davidson, Great Falls; acting grand standard bearer, James Granger; acting grand sword bearer, A. A. Ekegren; acting grand tyler, Geo. H. Tout; bearer of great lights, Dr. W. N. Deatherage; bearer of books of constitution, E. P. Ekegren.

The oration for the occasion was delivered by Charles Davidson of Great Falls.
