Alexandria Advertiser MONDAY, Dec. 15

As our paper was going to press on Saturday, an accident happened which prevented its being published. We hope our patrons will excuse its non-appearance that day.

Among others, we have to acknowledge a communication under the signature of "A." We cannot suppose that the publication which has produced these remarks could possibly have the effect our correspondent apprehends, and as to the motive that induced its publicity, we can assure him it was very different from that which he has ascribed--but as a discussion of the Subject would probably not be productive of any good consequences, we have, for this reason, declined giving a place to his communication. On any other Subject than the one he has taken up, and which we shall avoid in future, we will be thankful for his correspondence.
