Full Text
The recent reports from Havana of contemplated measures to interrupt our commerce are not entitled to the least credit. Correct accounts from thence assure us, that no change in their relations with the United States will result from the capture of Pensacola. Some hot-heads scold about it, and pronounce it to be a second Copenhagen affair; but the wiser part consider the occupation of it, as the anticipation of a long expected event; and know that Spain has long since consented to cede, and the United States to purchase the Floridas; and that the delay has been occasioned by the higgling of the parties to make or get a bargain.
