Last week we stated that Mr. Henry Lawrence of Lawrence ton had made an assignment for the benefit of his creditors. It seems that this statement was an error, but it was not one of our making, for we took particular pains to inquire where we thought authentic information was to be had, for the facts in the case and were informed that the assignment was an accomplished fact. We are glad however, to be able to state upon better information, that Mr. Lawrence's affairs are in a satisfactory condition and that notwithstanding the hard times and scarcity of money he is in a condition to meet all his obligations and continue his business with profit to himself and confidence from his correspondents.
