FOUR OUT OF FIVE UNFIT.

The medical sharps at Harvard university have discovered that of the freshman class of 746 members only one-fifth can stand properly, walk properly or carry themselves properly.
They say that this is a very serious matter because these four in every five young men that are thus mistreating their spines are thereby laying themselves open to disease and robbing themselves of half their efficiency.
The 746 are typical youths from all parts of the county. If four in five of them are wrong, probably four in five of all the rest are just as wrong.
A military training would have corrected all this and brought the young men up to physical par.
But we can't have any military training in this country. They can have it all right in other democracies, but we can't have it here.
Why not?
