HUGHES TO OPEN NEW HOTEL IN YAKIMA; RESIGNS POSITION HERE

W. R. (Bill) Hughes, manager of the Baranof Hotel for the past three years has resigned to open and manage the new modern Chinook Hotel in Yakima, Wash. This will be the third new hotel that Hughes has opened in his 33-year hotel career. The New Chinook will have 183 rooms with banquet facilities for 500 and is owned by the Yakima Community Hotel Corporation. It is scheduled to open April 1, 1951.

Hughes successor at the Baranof has not yet been named but he will leave Juneau as soon as a new manager arrives here.
