Full Text

Outrageous Robbery.—Our city is infested with
a gang of thieves and robbers, that are nightly
committing depredations on our citizens, and we
trust they will not long elude the vigilance of
our police, as their acts have become so daring
as to call for the most unceasing efforts to be
made for their arrest. The reader will see by an
advertisement in another column, that Mr. T.
Lecknare, of Petersburg, was attacked and knocked down on Thursday night, in Light st. by
four ruffians and robbed of $3500. Housekeepers cannot be too careful, nor the police too vigilant—the one to prevent depredations, and the
other to arrest those who may commit them.—
Balt. American.
