LATEST FROM AFRICA.

The sch. Hiram, Capt. Devens, has arrived at Newport, from Sierra Leone, reports, that a French squadron, consisting of several frigates, with transports, had arrived at Goree on 27th July, having on board the French Governor,—who were to take possession of Goree and Senegal; one of the frigates was cast away near Senegal. Sir James Yeo was at Sierra Leone, bound down the coast after the Spanish and Portuguese slave vessels. Capt. D. adds, that the war between the negroes of the interior and sea coast, still continued.
