Full Text

Mr Printer,

Although it may require great forbearance on the part of those of our fellow-citizens, who have been abused and robbed by pirates, to see those very wretches parading our streets with apparent wealth, acquired by their ruin, we hope that a respect for our laws, respect for the honour of the American character, will confine resentment to the limits prescribed by the laws. The country has recently been inundated by some of the vilest wretches that ever disgraced humanity, and who while our country affords them an asylum from the just resentment of the Spaniards, and the conscription of their master, are now preparing the means for future depredations on the property of our fellow-citizens.-- More of this anon!
