Has Narrow
Escape in Runaway

Milbank, Sept. 28—Peter Jordan, a farmer of this vicinity, had a narrow escape from death as the result of carelessness on the part of some unknown hunter. Jordan was cutting corn with a corn binder when a hunter close by fired a shot and frightened Jordan's team of horses, rendering them unmanageable. Jordan attempted to jump when his horses ran away, but one of his feet caught in the fixtures of the binder and he was dragged about 70 rods before the horses broke loose from the binder. This saved his life, for otherwise he would have been dragged to death. His injuries are serious, but he appears to have a fair chance to recover in the local hospital to which he was rushed after the accident.
