May 26. Captain Jones, from Barbados, informs that there has been a great drought at that place; and that at many of the plantations they had put their plants into the ground twice, and were obliged to dig them up again, and put in others, having failed for want of rain. On the 16th instant, in lat. 32: 46, lon. 70: 10, he spoke a sloop, Captain Matthews, from Antigua for Virginia, out 8 days; on the 19th, in lat. 37, lon. 73, spoke a snow from Virginia for Liverpool, and another snow from Virginia for Bristol, two days out, with 6 or 8 sail in company.
