Governor Boyle and State Engineer Scrugham expect to leave for Denver Saturday evening, where they are to meet with officials of that state on matters pertaining to the Colorado river storage and power project.
During the past few months several outfits have endeavored to handle the Boulder Canyon project, and as several bordering states are interested, the program of general utility without surrendering state rights is to be gone over.
Arizona, California, Nevada and Colorado all having interests in this river, each is endeavoring to protect their respective interests. It is in order to get a workable plan for Nevada's protection that the governor and state engineer are making this trip.
Recently the two made the trip to Boulder Canyon and then to Los Angeles, where they took up the matter with the Southern Development company, a corporation that is endeavoring to get a foothold in the big proposition of water and power.
Just what interests can be surrendered or conserved is but a part of the program. The governor and state engineer will work with the recently appointed commission. This plan has been stuck to by all concerned, and while eventually something will come from the project the state's rights and individual rights will be protected, if an interstate program can be formed.
