Victims Of Hurricane In Honduras Get More Aid

The Baron Bliss Trust, (a public trust set up by the late Baron Bliss, benefactor of British Honduras who left an estate of some $1,500,000 has announced that they will make a gift to the people of Corozal, British Honduras' principal district Town of the North, 96 per cent. of which was destroyed by the recent hurricane. The gift is to be a new $30,000 (B$7,500) Health Centre and Infant Welfare Clinic combined, and a $5,000 town ambulance. The announcement from the Baron Bliss said that building operations would be started as soon as a suitable design was approved, and would be built on a site within the compound of the old hospital, which was badly battered by Janet. Features of the Health Centre will be an ante-natal clinic, an out patient department, and headquarters for the Corozal Branch of the Health Department of British Honduras.
