Sister Pierce Honored
Hercules Lodge 101, Houston, Tex., recently paid tribute to one of its most loyal and still active members at a surprise party for Sister Margaret Pierce, chaplain.
Sister Pierce recently celebrated her 80th birthday. For this gala occasion, Sisters of the lodge arranged for a covered dish luncheon following the regular meeting, so that Sister Pierce might be presented with her 50-year membership pin.
A beautiful birthday cake centered the luncheon tables and the members were happy to give Sister Pierce a lovely white stole. Sister Julia Carmical had arranged for presentation of the pin, which was accepted with sincere gratitude and joy. Lodge 101 is proud of the long and faithful record Sister Pierce has made, having served as chaplain for the past 20 years and is filling that station today and rarely misses a meeting.
Another Sister, Mrs. Elma Shockley, shared in the surprise, as her husband, Brother I. N. Shockley, received a 50-year membership pin recently at a supper for the Sisters and their families. Hercules Lodge is working on a fancy drill to be staged at the Texas State Association meeting in September. There are 12 past presidents in the lodge, including the present president, and the Past President's Club, which is three years old, is very active.
