GERMANY'S GREAT TEST

FREIBURG. If Germany safely passes through the winter the nation will be saved, in the opinion of Herr Fehrenbach, president of the national assembly, who expressed this view in an address before the Catholic federation here.

"It all depends on whether the soul of the people is still healthy," he declared.

"The men who are now at the head of the government are probably not all highly educated individuals but it must be said of them that they are fully conscious of their responsibility and are diligently striving to lead us out of our present misery. They are fully as wise as many former chancellors and royal ministers."
