Mission Study
The Woman's Missionary Society of the First Baptist church held their November business meeting and program, November 5 at the church.
Devotional was led by Mrs. Ray Alderman, Mrs. Edna Albury, program chairman, presented the missionary topic, "Whither Asia." She was joined by Mrs. Mary Day. Mrs. Naomi Scribner and Mrs. Leona Collins who also closed the meeting with prayer, then opened the business meeting.
Reports from committee chairman were presented along with a report from the Annual W.M.U. associational meeting held in Miami, October 30 attended by Mesdames Leona Collins, Lois Eden. Naomi Scribner, Edna Albury and Mercede Johnson.
Reports were made on the amount of groceries. medicine and money given for needy families. The State Mission offering was $75.
Plans were completed for a mission study class to be held Friday, November 16, which begins at 10 a.m., supervised by Mrs. Samuel Wallace of Miami. She is associate president of the W.M.U. and will teach from the mission book. "Pilgrimage to Spanish America."
Between the morning and afternoon session, which begins at 1 p.m.. luncheon will be served in the church annex. Poinciana W.M.U. and the Baptist Mission W.M.U. will participate.
Social chairman, Mrs. Naomi Scribner is in charge of the luncheon arrangements assisted by the social and circle chairmen of all three circle organizations. All ladies of the church are invited to attend this study.
