The proposed study of conditions among Southeast Alaska Indians by a sub-committee of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, slated to open this week, has been deferred for at least 10 days, according to telegraphic advices received here by L. G. Wingard, Alaska Agent of the United States Bureau of Fisheries from Commissioner Frank T. Bell.

The Bureau's flagship Brant was scheduled to have sailed with the committee yesterday from Seattle. Advices received from Commissioner Bell said the departure had been postponed for at least 10 days.

Members of the Committee to make the trip are: Senators Burton K. Wheeler, Elmer Thomas and Lynn J. Frazier. Representatives of the Office of Indian Affairs are expected to accompany it on the trip. Its work will be confined to Southeast Alaska.
