Untangling a shooting which occurred in front of a cafe at 88 Piedmont Avenue Monday night, Judge John L. Cone Thursday morning held Douglas Watkins, 27-year old victim, to the state court for carrying concealed weapons, fined 50-year old Will Robinson $50, twenty days, and dismissed disorderly case against Ralph Cain.
Watkins was wounded in the fleshy part of his left leg and was dismissed after receiving treatment at Grady hospital.
William P. Taylor of 353 Biggers street, appearing as principal witness, testified that Watkins was creating a disturbance in the cafe and had drawn a pistol on Robinson before the latter shot him.
Watkins dropped a pistol just before he was arrested several blocks away from the scene of the shooting, according to police reports. He denied having the gun at the time Robinson shot him. Cain was arrested when he was seen in the company of Watkins.
