Sheridan Armholt, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Armholt, of Swanton, who was wounded in the abdomen over a week ago, when a .32 calibre revolver he and his companions were playing with discharged, remains in an extreme critical condition at Potomac Valley hospital, Keyser. The bullet penetrated his intestines in a dozen or more places.
Herschel Titchnell, 16, son of Troxel Titchnell, who fired the weapon, is being held by county authorities under $1,000 bond pending outcome of the injuries.
Questioned yesterday in the State's Attorney's office Titchnell stated he didn't mean to shoot his companion. Titchnell had extracted five bullets from the gun and playfully demanded "stick 'em up." When his companion refused, State's Attorney Fraley said the boy told him he replaced one of the bullets, not expecting it to be in the fire chamber. He then pulled the trigger. Samuel Armholt and another small boy were playing with Titchnell and the injured youth at the time.
