Full Text

President Coolidge, in a letter Wednesday to W. T. Galliher, chairman of the inaugural committee, expressed himself as "much delighted with the dignity, the modesty and, as it seemed to me, the appropriateness of all the ceremonies," attending his inauguration last week. "I have to congratulate you," the president wrote, "and all who participated with you in the labors and responsibilities, on the excellent judgment everywhere maintained, both in conception and in execution of the day's plans. I feel that I ought to say frankly to you that I was much delighted with the dignity, the modesty and, as it seemed to me, the appropriateness of all the ceremonies. If it were possible, I should prize the privilege of making an acknowledgment in this sense to all members of the committee who served with you. As this is not feasible, I shall ask you to apprise your colleagues of the committee, the people of Washington and their guests of my deep appreciation."
